I wanted to build on my prior visit, where I introduced them to the powers of two. By teaching them binary, I showed them that place value is not limited to base ten, and that there is a difference between numbers and numerals.

I wonder if it would be possible to then look at how drawing software adjusts mixes, averages, subtracts colours depending on brush options. That said, I think there is great value in introducing another base, though probably after base ten. Like learning a second language makes you understand language better, learning another base will make you understand numbers better.
